What is Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA)?
Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) is private student housing specifically designed and managed for university students.
Unlike traditional private renting, PBSA usually provides a fully furnished room, with utilities, internet and maintenance included within the rent. Many properties also offer communal study areas, social spaces, laundry facilities, secure entry, bike storage and on-site support.
PBSA is different from university halls of residence, which are normally owned or managed by a university and primarily house its own students. Private student accommodation can house students from several universities within the same building.
