About Loomz

Loomz exists because of one student.
And one very patient set of parents.

We’re a small, UK-based family business, and the idea for Loomz started when our son Elliot moved out to begin university.

Like most parents, we thought we’d smashed it.

New bedding.
Kitchen bits.
Desk stuff.

“Everything you’ll ever need.”

Apparently… not.

Year One: The Reality Check

Elliot’s first year was in on-campus accommodation.

Cue the realisation that student living is its own very specific lifestyle.

Yes, you need the basics.
But you also need things that make a small, beige, personality-free room feel like somewhere you actually want to live.

Lighting that doesn’t feel like an interrogation.
Storage that works when space doesn’t exist.
Bathroom fixes for places that are… not inspiring.

And all of it has to respect accommodation rules:

No drilling.
No nails.
No “creative” wall damage.
No deposit dramas.

Years Two & Three: The Upgrade Era

Then came off-campus housing.

Shared kitchens.
Questionable heating.
Even more questionable bathrooms.

By this point, Elliot had become a student accommodation expert:

What’s actually worth buying.
What survives multiple house moves.
What landlords dislike.
What mysteriously disappears in shared houses.
What’s essential vs “I’ll regret not having this.”

And yes… there were landlord conversations.

The Big Realisation
